How To Create A Diagram In Powerpoint

Where is Wheel diagram used in presentations?

A Wheel is used to represent hub and spoke relationship. For example, you can use the diagram to represent a role and the associated responsibilities or a core idea and related concepts. You can also use it as a chart to represent 4 quarters of a year or 4 seasons.

You can vary the number of segments, number of layers and number of colors based on your specific requirements.

Let us start creating the diagram right away:

Step 1: Draw the base segment

Use 'pie' tool in auto shapes menu to create a quarter segment as follows:

Step 2: Draw the circle

Now make three more copies of the segment and complete the circle as follows:

Group the four segments using 'Ctrl+ G' option.

Step 3: Add a layer

Make a copy of the group. Right click on the copy -> Size and Position -> Scale – > Place a check mark on 'lock aspect ratio' and enter the value as 70%.

Select both the shapes and Arrange -> Align Center and Align Middle. You will get the following result:

Step 4: Color the segments

Color the segments with lighter and darker tones as shown here:

The result of the shading is as follows:

You can choose to add a white circle in the centre to indicate the hub.
